How To Make A Decree

Good news, making a decree isn't hard! It only takes knowing what God says, aligning your agreement with His Word and speaking it out! That. Is. It.

A great place to start is on our BIBLICAL FOUNDATIONS page, if you're unsure about why we can make decrees. After that, here are a few suggestions to get you started:

1) Identify your need, someone else's or world-scale need AND what God is saying about it. What is He saying to you personally and what has He already said in Scripture? For example: you have a loved one that is living their live outside of relationship with the Lord. The Bible has so many verses about this and we already know God's heart toward their returning. In One instance, Jesus said in Luke 15:7 (TPT)

Jesus continued, “In the same way, there will be a glorious celebration in heaven over the rescue of one lost sinner who repents, comes back home, and returns to the fold—more so than for all the righteous people who never strayed away.”

2) Gather scriptures that support your decree. Again, let's use the Prodigal Son story in Luke 15:11-32

3) Write and Speak your decree. Here's how it could look:

I decree that what is lost will be found. I decree the identity of a son or daughter over the lost. I decree the lost are remembering and returning to the Father. I decree a home coming party is being planned.
